George Fox-Pacific Lutheran Basketball Doubleheader Postponed to Sunday, Jan. 22

NEWBERG, Ore. – Due to snow and icy conditions in the Puget Sound area which are preventing the Pacific Lutheran University athletic teams from traveling, the women’s and men’s basketball games between the Lutes and the George Fox University Bruins that were scheduled for Friday, Jan. 20, have been postponed until Sunday, Jan. 22. 

Game times Sunday between the Bruins and the Lutes will be 6:00 p.m. for the women’s game and 8:00 p.m. for the men’s game.  Both men’s teams are 7-8 overall and 4-2 and tied for third in the Northwest Conference standings.  The Bruin women’s team is 15-0 overall, ranked third in the nation, and leads the NWC at 6-0, while the Lutes are 4-11 overall and eighth in the conference at 1-5.

George Fox’s teams will now visit Linfield College Saturday for a doubleheader at 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. before playing the Lutes on Sunday.  Pacific Lutheran is scheduled to play a pair at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Ore., Saturday at 6:00 and 8:00 p.m., provided the teams are finally able to escape their winter wonderland.
